The tragic killing of a class 2 student in an alleged sacrificial ritual by the owners of his school in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, has drawn the attention of the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR). Devendra Sharma, the chairman of SCPCR, expressed deep sorrow over the incident and promised a thorough investigation to ensure justice for the child.
Speaking on the matter, Sharma said, "The incident has come to my notice and I will be visiting Hathras tomorrow. I will get the probe on this started so that the culprits get punished." His statement reflects the urgency with which the commission intends to handle the case, as he vowed to take immediate steps to initiate an inquiry.
Sharma also expressed his dismay at the circumstances surrounding the child's death, attributing the tragedy to dangerous superstitious beliefs. "It is very saddening that a child has been killed due to superstition," he remarked, highlighting the need to address such harmful practices that continue to exist in society.
The incident has shocked the local community and raised concerns about the safety and well-being of children in schools. With the SCPCR’s intervention, there is hope that a swift investigation will bring those responsible for the heinous act to justice, sending a strong message against superstitious practices that endanger innocent lives.
