New Delhi: CII President Sanjiv Puri commented on the National Economic Survey, noting that the GDP growth rate exceeded previous predictions. He expressed hope that this trend will continue.

Puri stated, "... The GDP growth rate was much higher than was predicted in the last economic survey. We hope that's the case this time as well."

He outlined positive expectations for various sectors, saying, "We expect betterment of agriculture, service sector, global trade has been predicted by the WTO to be around 2.5%... The economic survey tells us there are a lot of positives in the economy."

Puri also acknowledged the successful strategies from previous budgets, noting, "In the previous budgets, strategies adopted by the Finance Minister for investment-led growth, and crowding in from public capex to private capex have been successful in that direction."

While optimistic about economic progress and job creation, he highlighted a key challenge: "Good quality jobs are getting created. The only question is how to increase the rate of creating good quality jobs."
