Mumbai, Maharashtra | Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has launched a scathing attack on the Modi government, demanding answers over former US President Donald Trump’s recent White House dinner with Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir. Addressing reporters in Mumbai, Raut expressed shock and outrage at what he termed a “grave insult” to India, linking the development to the fallout of Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam terror attack.
Raut stated, “President Trump hosted dinner for General Munir of Pakistan. He received a special invitation – we want to know the opinions of PM Modi, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, BJP President JP Nadda, and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. Asim Munir is the culprit of the Sindoor of women being wiped off in Pahalgam.”
The reference to Operation Sindoor relates to an Indian military response to terrorist activities allegedly backed by Pakistan, during which Munir was said to have held command responsibility. Raut alleged that Munir was directly involved in orchestrating the attack in Pahalgam that claimed several lives.
The Shiv Sena leader further raised serious concerns about Trump’s global intentions, suggesting, “President Trump is interfering and trying to change the regime in many countries. Does he want to do the same in India? I have this doubt.”
Raut demanded that the Indian government take a clear stance on the incident, describing it as “shocking for our country.” He questioned the silence from New Delhi and accused the ruling BJP of compromising national interest by not reacting to what he termed “blatant diplomatic disregard.”
