Sanjay Raut
By A Staff Reporter
Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Friday criticised the ruling party and its leaders, saying that “many Raavan have been born” since Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s party assumed power and that the number of people willing to speak the truth has declined. The remarks were made while Raut was speaking to reporters and responding to recent political rhetoric and events.
Raut also invoked a Dussehra motif in reference to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying, “Rahul Gandhi has a torch in his hand, we will burn Delhi’s Raavan,” language that referenced the traditional symbolic burning of the demon king but applied it to political opponents. He framed the comment as a rebuke of what he described as growing intolerance and attacks on dissent.
