By A Staff Reporter
New Delhi, August 4: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut paid heartfelt tributes to former Jharkhand Chief Minister and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) patron Shibu Soren, describing his demise as a profound loss for Jharkhand and Indian politics. Raut, who shared a close seating proximity with Soren in the Rajya Sabha, recalled his towering presence as a leader who symbolized the aspirations of the tribal population.
“We always think of Shibu Soren. Coming from a tribal state, that person joined national politics and became a symbol of Jharkhand’s identity. For the people of Jharkhand, he was no less than a god,” Raut said, reflecting on Soren’s stature and emotional connect with the people.

He shared personal anecdotes of inquiring about Soren’s health through his party colleagues. “Shibu Soren is a member of the Rajya Sabha, and his seat is right next to mine. I always asked his party MPs about his health. Two days ago, I was told he was not doing well, and today he has passed away,” Raut added.
On behalf of Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and his family, Raut extended condolences to Soren’s family and supporters. “Uddhav Thackeray and the entire family pay tributes to him. He gave his life for the welfare of the tribal population of his state,” he said.
Shibu Soren, fondly known as ‘Guruji’, was a stalwart of the tribal rights movement and played a pivotal role in the formation of Jharkhand as a separate state. His decades-long political career was marked by grassroots activism, focusing on the socio-economic upliftment of marginalized communities.
