Nashik, Maharashtra: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has raised serious allegations regarding electronic voting machines (EVMs) in the Maharashtra elections, claiming that the sudden increase of 76 lakh votes points to a massive electoral fraud. He linked this alleged irregularity to the victory of the BJP-led Fadnavis government, calling it one of the biggest reasons behind their win.
Raut stated that the Bombay High Court has taken strict note of the issue and has asked for an explanation regarding the surge in votes. He welcomed the court’s intervention and insisted that a thorough investigation be conducted to uncover the truth. According to him, the matter is of grave significance and could expose one of the biggest election scams in the state’s history.
As a key opposition leader, Raut has been vocal against the BJP and its Maharashtra ally, the Eknath Shinde faction, accusing them of using unfair means to retain power. His latest statement adds to the growing political debate over EVM credibility and election transparency in India.
