Delhi: The political heat around Operation Sindoor intensified on Wednesday after BJP spokesperson and Member of Parliament Sambit Patra launched a sharp verbal attack on the Congress party and its senior leaders. Patra’s remarks were in response to Congress Maharashtra chief Nana Patole, who had controversially compared Operation Sindoor to a “children’s video game,” sparking outrage across political circles.
“If the Congress party has decided to commit suicide, then as good citizens of this country, we should appeal to them not to commit suicide, for god's sake,” Patra said during a press interaction. He questioned Patole’s understanding of national security and asked, “Who are the children that Nana Patole is referring to? The Indian armed forces?”
Patra went on to remind the opposition of the seriousness of the situation: “Were the BrahMos missiles that were fired a part of a video game? Operation Sindoor is not a simulation—it was a critical defense operation.”
Taking direct aim at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Patra added, “Rahul Gandhi is the child he was talking about, who plays video games day and night. That is why an essential issue like Operation Sindoor looks like a video game to the leaders of his party. Ask Rahul Gandhi not to play video games but to be serious about the affairs happening around him.”
