Delhi: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Member of Parliament Manoj Kumar Jha on Tuesday remarked on the ongoing ‘Bihar Bandh’, stating that the intent behind such protest calls is to promote awareness and engagement in democratic processes. Speaking to the media, Jha emphasised the importance of dialogue in governance and expressed concern over decisions being taken without broader consultation.

“Whenever there is a call for a bandh in this country, the intention is to open people's minds,” he said. “An attempt is made to help government officials understand that democracy thrives on dialogue, not on one-sided decisions.”

The remarks come amid statewide protests and shutdowns led by opposition parties, including the RJD, in response to recent administrative decisions in Bihar. Without referring to any specific policy or incident, Jha added, “If you take decisions on someone's instructions and make negative comments against those who criticise you, then it is not appropriate.”
