Delhi: Reacting to the tragic stampede in Karur, Tamil Nadu, RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha on Tuesday criticized the lack of accountability in the aftermath of such incidents, highlighting broader concerns over crowd management in the country.
“In the past one year, so many incidents have happened. Death just becomes a statistic,” Jha said. He added that gathering large crowds is easy in India, but neither organizers nor police are held responsible for safety lapses.
Jha further remarked, “There will be discussion for 2 days and on the third day we will forget it and move on,” pointing to the cyclical nature of public attention and government response following such tragedies.
