Mumbai: Researcher and commentator RN Bhaskar discussed growing global skepticism toward US dominance in financial systems and its impact on payment methods like cryptocurrency. He also addressed the criticism surrounding industrialist Gautam Adani in the wake of allegations from US prosecutors.
"Every industrialist knows it is very dangerous to deal with the USA. The US has information about every bureaucrat and minister," said Bhaskar, explaining why cryptocurrencies are increasingly used for transactions globally. "Cryptocurrency is the only method the USA cannot monitor—it doesn’t know the sender or the recipient. More countries are moving toward cryptocurrency because they no longer trust the US. This is why BRICS nations are exploring a new currency system to bypass the US dollar."
On allegations against Adani related to a solar energy contract bribery case, Bhaskar called for restraint, emphasizing the principle of innocent until proven guilty. "This is a chargesheet. Until a crime is proven, Gautam Adani is innocent. Why are you shouting before charges are proven? Let the process unfold in court before passing judgment," he said.
He further criticized public outcries, arguing that moving the debate from the courts to the streets undermines due process. "When you take justice away from the courthouse to the streets, you create agitation and weaken the government," Bhaskar added.
Bhaskar’s remarks underscore the growing tension between global financial systems and US influence, as well as the delicate balance between public scrutiny and judicial fairness in high-profile cases like Adani’s.
