Uttarakhand: Addressing the ongoing rescue operations in Kedarnath and surrounding areas, Rudraprayag SDM Ashish Ghildiyal provided an update on the efforts to evacuate stranded individuals. "Here on Gauchar Airstrip, Chinook and Mi-17 of Indian Air Force landed yesterday," Ghildiyal stated. "Mi-17 took a flight yesterday, but since the weather was not good, the mission was aborted."

Despite these challenges, Ghildiyal reported progress. "From this morning, we have rescued 15 people with the help of Mi-17. NDRF personnel have also been airlifted," he said. He noted that the weather in Kedarnath remains unsuitable for flights, complicating the rescue efforts. "Almost 300 people are stuck there, and NDRF and SDRF are deployed as per requirement. The safest route is being used to rescue people," Ghildiyal assured.
