Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday announced a series of new civic and infrastructure initiatives aimed at improving basic amenities for residents of the J.J. Cluster in Shalimar Bagh. The projects, inaugurated during her visit to the area, include the construction of new drains, the development of paved lanes, expansion of water supply lines, installation of modern street lighting and the commencement of work on a 60-seater toilet block.
Gupta said these upgrades were designed to address long-pending demands and enhance the overall quality of life in the densely populated cluster settlement. She emphasised that ensuring accessible and reliable civic facilities remains one of the government’s key priorities, especially in areas where basic infrastructure has historically lagged.
In addition to the projects already underway, the Chief Minister announced that a new school, a banquet hall and an Atal Canteen will soon be established within a 500-yard premises to further support the community’s educational, social and nutritional needs. She also revealed that the local hospital would be fully organised and operational within the next two years, ensuring improved access to quality healthcare for residents.
