Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ravi Shankar Prasad on Saturday strongly criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over alleged derogatory remarks made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mother during the Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar.
Addressing reporters in Patna, Prasad questioned Gandhi’s conduct and demanded a public apology. “Has Rahul Gandhi forgotten basic manners? We will protest across the country until he apologises,” he said, calling the remarks unacceptable.
Prasad also reacted to a reported comment by Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mahua Moitra against Union Home Minister Amit Shah. “She keeps making such absurd statements. She has already been expelled from the House once. This has been said out of frustration,” he remarked.
The statements come amid rising political tensions in Bihar, where the Voter Adhikar Yatra has seen sharp exchanges between rival parties. BJP leaders have intensified their criticism of opposition figures, accusing them of lowering the standard of political discourse.
