Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh: BJP MP and actor Ravi Kishan criticized Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav's recent statements regarding the Sanatana Dharma ideology. Speaking at a gathering in Prayagraj, Kishan claimed that the rising prominence of Sanatana Dharma has unsettled the opposition, particularly the SP.
"The ideology of Sanatana Dharma has risen, so they are hurt by this. I would tell the opposition to fight in the election. This is a gathering of Sanatana Dharma; why are you counting data here?" said Kishan.
He dismissed the opposition's criticism and emphasized the inclusivity of the event. "The media is here, capturing live visuals. There is nothing to hide. People from every caste, community, and religion are coming here and taking a holy dip," he asserted.
Kishan also took a dig at the Samajwadi Party, alleging frustration within their ranks. "Their PDA (Progressive Democratic Alliance) has been shattered, so it is natural for them to be frustrated," he added, implying a decline in the alliance's political traction.
The remarks come amid ongoing debates over the influence of Sanatana Dharma in contemporary politics and society. Yadav’s comments had earlier drawn criticism from BJP leaders, who accused the opposition of undermining traditional Indian values.
