Ramdas Athawale Welcomes Tahawwur Rana's Extradition, Calls for Swift Death Sentence

New Delhi: Union Minister of State Ramdas Athawale has strongly welcomed the extradition of Tahawwur Hussain Rana, one of the accused in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, saying that justice must be delivered without delay.

Speaking to reporters, Athawale stated, “Tahawwur Rana was residing in America for several years. It was a good decision by the American court to send him to India.” He added that Rana could soon be moved to Mumbai, the city that witnessed the deadly 26/11 attack which left 166 people dead and hundreds injured.

Emphasizing the gravity of the crime, Athawale said, “He should be sentenced to death as soon as possible.”
