Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh: Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker and former Chief Minister Raman Singh expressed confidence that the state would soon be free of Naxals, following the killing of 10 Naxalites in a recent encounter by the District Reserve Guard (DRG).
Singh credited the strategy implemented by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, stating, "In the past 11 months, more than 200 Naxalites have been killed. We are working with a clear strategy, and in the coming days, Chhattisgarh will become a Naxal-free state."
The encounter, which took place in Rajnandgaon’s forested areas, marks a major achievement in the ongoing fight against Naxalism in the region. Singh emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts between state and central security forces, reinforcing the government's resolve to eliminate the Naxal threat from the state.
Chhattisgarh has been a key battleground in the Naxal insurgency, and Singh’s remarks underline the state’s renewed focus on eradicating this long-standing issue.
