Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday issued a firm warning to those who might misinterpret India’s commitment to peace as a sign of weakness. While reaffirming India’s longstanding position of resolving conflicts through dialogue, Singh made it clear that any provocation will be met with decisive and forceful action.

“We have always, as a responsible nation, played our role with great restraint. We have consistently advocated that problems should be resolved through dialogue,” Singh said, underlining India’s diplomatic and peaceful approach to conflict resolution. However, he cautioned that such patience should not be mistaken for vulnerability.

“This does not mean that anyone should take undue advantage of our patience,” the Minister stated, asserting that India’s strategic tolerance has clear limits. “If someone, anywhere, tries to exploit our restraint, they must be fully prepared to face ‘quality action’ as they did yesterday,” Singh added, referencing a recent incident involving a robust Indian response, though he did not elaborate further.
