New Delhi – In a heartfelt address, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh drew a moving comparison between the bravery of India’s soldiers and the courage of its healthcare workers, stating that both have proven their unwavering commitment to the nation during times of crisis.

“If the people of this country have recently seen the valor of the Indian Army during Operation Sindoor, then the entire country has witnessed the courage and commitment of our doctors and surgeons during the Covid pandemic,” Singh said.

He emphasized that just as the Indian Armed Forces risked their lives to root out terrorism from across the border with surgical precision, doctors and surgeons fought on the frontlines of the pandemic, protecting millions of lives under the most challenging circumstances.

Singh noted that both professions—soldiers and medical professionals—are bound by discipline, duty, and the ability to make life-saving decisions under pressure. “Both are always on alert, always ready for emergencies. One defends the nation, the other defends health,” he remarked.
