Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee during a series of events in Lucknow, marking Vajpayee's birth anniversary. Singh, who currently represents the Lucknow parliamentary constituency—a seat once held by Vajpayee—expressed deep reverence for the late leader's contributions to India and the world.

"We all consider ourselves fortunate that Atal Ji served Lucknow for a long time and became the Prime Minister while being an MP from the Lucknow parliamentary constituency, making India proud on the international stage," Singh remarked. He emphasized that his homage was not in his capacity as Defence Minister but as a Member of Parliament representing Lucknow, stating, "I pay tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji on behalf of my entire parliamentary constituency."
