Jaisalmer, Rajasthan: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday stressed the importance of maintaining constant vigilance against both external and internal threats, while highlighting the critical role of India’s armed forces in achieving the nation’s long-term development goals.

Speaking at an event in Jaisalmer, Singh said, “Our enemies, whether external or internal, never remain inactive. They are always active in one form or another. In such a situation, we will have to keep a constant sharp eye on their activities, and accordingly take appropriate and effective steps.”

The minister linked national security directly to India’s broader developmental ambitions, stressing the importance of preparedness. “Our goal is clear that by 2047, we must establish India as a developed and self-reliant nation. Naturally, in achieving this goal, the role of our armed forces will be extremely crucial,” he added.
