Berrechid (Morocco): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh described the inauguration of Tata Advanced Systems Maroc’s new manufacturing facility in Berrechid as both an industrial achievement and a strategic milestone for India and Morocco.

Addressing the gathering, Singh said, “Today’s event is more than an industrial milestone. It is a powerful symbol of the growing strategic convergence between our two countries. By welcoming India’s leading private-sector defence enterprise to Moroccan soil, we affirm our shared commitment to a secure and peaceful region.”

The facility, spread over 20,000 square metres, will focus on producing advanced armoured combat vehicles that integrate the latest in mobility, protection, and firepower. Singh emphasized that the plant is among the first overseas defence manufacturing ventures by an Indian company, marking a breakthrough moment for India’s defence industry on the global stage.

He added that the project demonstrates the capabilities of Indian private-sector enterprises as well as the country’s broader push for defence self-reliance and international collaboration. “This is a remarkable step forward not just for Tata Advanced Systems but for the entire Indian defence industry,” Singh said.
