Jaipur: Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari on Monday extended greetings on the occasion of Jaipur Foundation Day, marking the anniversary of the city’s establishment in 1727. Speaking at a commemorative event, she highlighted the cultural and historical significance of the Pink City while unveiling plans for extensive celebrations in the coming years.
“Many congratulations on Jaipur Foundation Day. Jaipur was founded on this day in 1727,” Kumari said, emphasising the city’s rich heritage and global recognition. She announced that from 2026 to 2027, the state government will organise a series of programmes dedicated to showcasing Jaipur’s history, art, architecture, and civic vibrancy. “For a whole year, from 2026 to 2027, we will organise many programs in this regard,” she added.
Kumari underscored that the responsibility of preserving Jaipur’s charm lies not only with the government and administration but equally with the citizens. Stressing the importance of community involvement in maintaining urban spaces, she said, “Making Jaipur more beautiful, clean and safe is as much the responsibility of the government and administration as it is of the citizens. I would request all the citizens to keep our city clean, beautiful and safe.”
