Raj Thackeray

Mumbai — Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray’s visit to Matoshree on the occasion of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray’s birthday has drawn considerable public attention and political interest. The meeting between the two cousins, who have long represented different political paths, was seen by many as symbolically significant in Maharashtra’s evolving political landscape.
Speaking to the media, Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Anand Dubey emphasized the emotional and political resonance of the visit. “Just look at the enthusiasm, look at the crowd today, from the streets to the rooftops, people have gathered in thousands. Not even the rain could stop them. This is the love the people have for Thackeray ji,” Dubey said, referring to the strong turnout of supporters outside Matoshree, the Thackeray residence.
He further remarked on the potential implications of the reunion, calling it a “good sign for the future of Maharashtra and Mumbai.” “They are brothers, leaders, and the people are genuinely happy. This unity is a good sign,” Dubey added.
While the visit was officially described as a personal gesture, it has sparked speculation about possible political realignment or reconciliation between the two leaders. Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray have had a strained political relationship since the early 2000s when Raj broke away from the Shiv Sena to form the MNS.
