Jaipur, Rajasthan: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Wednesday announced a new initiative aimed at enhancing passenger experience and improving station facilities in Rajasthan. Speaking from Jaipur Railway Station, he highlighted a pilot program introducing blanket covers on trains to ensure hygiene and comfort.

“Today, a new initiative has been started in the railways, which is an attempt to bring a major change in the lives of passengers,” Vaishnaw said. “The use of blankets in the railway system has always been there, but there has always been a doubt regarding the blankets, and to eliminate that, the arrangement of blanket covers has been started in one train as a pilot program from Jaipur Railway Station. If this experiment is successful, it will be extended across the country.”

The Railway Minister also stressed the need to upgrade facilities at smaller stations, including raising platform heights, improving signboards, and enhancing information systems. He noted that such improvements have already been implemented at 65 stations across Rajasthan, covering nearly all railway divisions in the state.
