Delhi: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday inaugurated the ‘Yatri Suvidha Kendra’ at New Delhi station, aimed at facilitating smoother passenger movement and improving ticketing efficiency.

Speaking about the new facility, Vaishnaw said, "The ticketing counters have been shifted here. If passengers have a reserved ticket, they can proceed directly. If not, they can come here, purchase their ticket, and enter in an orderly manner." He added that the facility is part of a broader plan to improve passenger experiences at busy stations, noting that India has almost 76 stations with heavy footfall. "After this experience, the same kind of permanent arrangement will be done in all of them," he said.

The minister also highlighted ongoing digital initiatives, stating that the capacity of IRCTC is expected to increase nearly tenfold by February or March, and encouraged passengers to use the RailOne app. He further noted that public feedback on these measures is taken seriously and expressed satisfaction over recognition of the work done under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
