Rahul Gandhi to Visit Poonch Following Civilian Killings in Cross-Border Attack

Congress MP Syed Naseer Hussain confirms Rahul Gandhi will visit Poonch to meet families affected by a deadly cross-border attack that killed 13 civilians.

Poonch, Jammu-Kashmir: Amid heightened tensions and public grief following a deadly cross-border shelling incident, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit Poonch to express solidarity with the victims and their families. The announcement was made by Congress MP and AICC General Secretary in charge of Jammu & Kashmir, Syed Naseer Hussain.

Speaking to reporters, Hussain said, “The way Pakistan attacked civilians. 13 people were killed and many were injured. There has been a lot of damage. That is why Rahul Gandhi is coming here today to meet the people.”

He further disclosed that the Congress party had been pushing for Gandhi’s visit earlier but faced administrative delays. “We wanted Rahul Gandhi to come here earlier, but permission was not being given,” he added.
