NEW DELHI – In a sharp attack on Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi accused both leaders of making "false promises" to the people. Addressing a public rally in Bawana, Gandhi recalled the Congress-led Delhi government’s achievements under former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit while criticizing the current state of governance.

“We talk about employment, development, and progress. You will remember that during Sheila Dikshit’s regime, roads were built in Delhi. Development took place. We did not make false promises,” Gandhi told the crowd.

Targeting Kejriwal directly, he referenced the AAP chief’s 2013 pledge to clean the Yamuna River and make its water drinkable. “Kejriwal ji had promised Delhi that he would clean the Yamuna River and drink its water. I challenge him to go and drink the water of the Yamuna River today,” he said, drawing cheers from party supporters.

Gandhi emphasized that the Congress had a track record of tangible development, unlike the BJP and AAP, which, he claimed, rely on hollow assurances. “This is the difference between Congress and Arvind Kejriwal... Kejriwal ji always makes false promises,” he added.
