Puri: BJP MP Sambit Patra has announced that the Puri-Lalgarh-Puri weekly express has been extended to Ganganagar in Rajasthan, a move he described as significant for improving interstate connectivity and fostering cultural exchange.

Speaking in Puri, Patra credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for the development, saying it would enhance travel convenience for residents along the train’s route and provide easier access for devotees wishing to visit Puri for the darshan of Lord Jagannath.

The extension is part of broader railway infrastructure initiatives under the central government’s “One India, Great India” vision, which aims to strengthen ties between different parts of the country. Patra also highlighted recent renovations at Puri railway station and other stations within his Lok Sabha constituency, noting that these upgrades are intended to improve passenger amenities and overall travel experience.
