Chandigarh — Reacting sharply to a case registered against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Saurabh Bharadwaj and Satyender Jain, Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh on Wednesday accused political rivals of targeting public welfare initiatives and undermining healthcare reforms led by AAP.

“They are asking why the Mohalla Clinics and the hospitals were built. They have been doing this for a long time,” Singh said, referring to what he called a sustained campaign to discredit and dismantle AAP’s flagship healthcare projects. He insisted that both Bharadwaj and Jain were “innocent” and being wrongfully targeted for their role in implementing popular and impactful public health infrastructure.

The minister also alleged that attempts are underway to shut down the Mohalla Clinics in Delhi, which have been widely praised for providing accessible and affordable primary healthcare. “They are undoing all the good work done in Delhi. The people of Delhi will teach them a lesson,” Singh asserted.
