Jalandhar, Punjab | Punjab Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh on Wednesday praised the state government's flagship wellness program ‘CM Di Yogshala’ during a Yoga event held in Jalandhar, terming it a vital step toward preventive healthcare under the ‘Rangla Punjab’ mission. Addressing the gathering, Dr Singh said, “I congratulate the Chief Minister and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal for this initiative. Around 2 lakh people in Punjab are practising Yoga daily, and sessions are being held at 4,581 locations across the state.”

Dr Singh highlighted the health benefits of Yoga, emphasizing its potential to keep diseases at bay. He also conveyed the Chief Minister’s message, explaining his absence from the event due to pressing commitments. “The CM had unavoidable circumstances and engagements. He is also supervising the Ludhiana West assembly bypoll, which is why he sent me here to represent him,” Dr Singh added.

Addressing another issue, the minister commented on a viral video circulating on social media, allegedly showing a doctor consuming drugs. Dr Singh confirmed that the matter was under investigation. “The person will definitely be identified. The inquiry was finalized two days ago. As soon as it came to my notice, I ensured the police, departmental, and legal procedures were activated. Action is being taken,” he assured.
