Punjab: Neeraj Kumar Gupta, Deputy Director General (DDG) of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), announced that a significant quantity of heroin seized in Punjab between 2021 and 2023 has been disposed of. Gupta stated, "PM Modi has the vision to make India drug-free by 2047. In line with this vision, drug disposal is a key component of our efforts."

He confirmed that approximately 118 kg of heroin has been destroyed as part of the ongoing anti-drug campaign. Gupta emphasized the importance of these actions in the broader strategy to combat drug abuse and trafficking in the country.
