Punjab Finance Minister Criticizes US Deportation Practices, Urges Action from Indian Government

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema has strongly condemned the inhumane treatment of Indian immigrants being deported from the United States, following reports of individuals being shackled during their deportation.

Cheema described the actions of the US government as a clear violation of international human rights, calling for urgent intervention from the Indian government. “The USA government is treating deportees in an inhumane manner, shackling their hands and feet. This is a clear violation of international human rights,” Cheema said.

He urged the Indian government to address the issue with the US government promptly. “The Indian government should urgently address this with the USA government. Prime Minister Modi should take immediate action and discuss this with the US President to find a solution,” Cheema added.
