Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann meets family of 16-year-old basketball player killed in Rohtak accident

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday visited Rohtak to meet the family of Hardik Rathi, the 16-year-old national-level basketball player who died earlier this week in a tragic sports infrastructure failure. Mann was accompanied by Aam Aadmi Party’s National Media In-Charge Anurag Dhanda as he extended condolences and assured support to the grieving family.

According to reports, Hardik was attempting a basketball dunk when the hoop, allegedly in a deteriorated condition, gave way and fell directly on his chest. The fatal collapse occurred on Tuesday, sending shockwaves through the sports community and raising urgent questions about the safety and maintenance of facilities used by young athletes across the region.
