Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday visited Pangyo Techno Valley near Seoul, South Korea, where he highlighted the advanced innovation ecosystem that has transformed the region into one of Asia’s leading technology hubs. Mann described Pangyo as a powerful example of how a dedicated environment for start-ups, research and global collaboration can drive large-scale economic growth.
Speaking during the visit, Mann said, “We have come to a small city near Seoul called Pangyo, which is a techno valley. There is a university here where many companies and start-ups from around the world are given the opportunity to grow their work, share their ideas, and then expand globally.” He noted that the region hosts a workforce of nearly 83,000 employees and provides a dynamic platform for entrepreneurs from diverse sectors.
Outlining the scale of activity in Pangyo, Mann said the valley is home to 1,178 companies from across the world that begin operations in shared spaces before expanding into their own dedicated offices on the upper floors as they scale up. “When they grow further, they get personal offices on the second and third floors,” he explained, emphasising the structured support system designed to help start-ups transition into large corporate entities.
