New Delhi: Congress MP from Wayanad, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, met Union Health Minister JP Nadda on Wednesday, pressing for urgent health interventions in her constituency.
During the meeting, Vadra highlighted the need to make the Mananthavady Medical College fully functional at the earliest, while also drawing attention to the healthcare requirements of tribal communities in the region. She further sought the establishment of a trauma centre to improve emergency care facilities.
Another key issue raised was the release of pending funds under the National Health Mission (NHM), which she said were critical for ensuring continuity of healthcare services in the district.
In addition, Vadra reiterated Kerala’s long-standing demand for setting up an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the state, underscoring the importance of advanced healthcare access for its population.
