Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi on Saturday weighed in on the ongoing discussion surrounding the Karnataka Chief Minister’s post, saying that the Congress leadership is addressing the matter through internal consultation and due process. Speaking in Delhi, she noted that both Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar had maintained that the party high command will take a final call on the arrangement.
Chaturvedi said Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge too echoed the same position, reinforcing that the party will arrive at a decision collectively. She stressed that while leadership discussions are common in any democratic structure, the primary responsibility remains ensuring continued governance and fulfilment of public commitments in Karnataka.
“What matters most is that the government continues to work for the people and fulfils the promises it has made,” she said, adding that administrative continuity must remain central to the ongoing deliberations.
In a pointed contrast, Chaturvedi criticised the BJP for what she described as abrupt political reshuffles, claiming the ruling party has a history of changing entire cabinets “overnight”. She argued that the Congress approach allows for debate, participation and consensus-building — qualities she said define democratic functioning within a government.
