Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi

By A Staff Reporter:

Mumbai, Maharashtra — Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi addressed a gathering in Mumbai, emphasizing the Maha Vikas Aghadi's (MVA) commitment to Maharashtra's welfare. She underscored that during the MVA's tenure, comprising Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress, and NCP, the alliance prioritized the state's interests, working on developmental and social initiatives. “We are giving a promise and commitment to the people of the state where they have seen that when Maha Vikas Aghadi was together, we worked in the interests of the state,” Chaturvedi stated, contrasting MVA's governance with BJP’s recent manifesto.

She dismissed the BJP’s manifesto as “Jumla Patra” — a document filled with unfulfilled promises and hollow rhetoric. According to her, BJP’s claims of welfare are merely a façade, concealing actions that, she alleged, drained resources from the state.

Chaturvedi also took strong exception to BJP’s actions regarding Shiv Sena's legacy, specifically referencing the use of the party name and symbol. She asserted, “They [BJP] need a mental check-up as they are the ones who tried to break away Balasaheb Thackeray's legacy and party.” She further accused BJP of manipulating the party's name and symbol to favor individuals she described as “traitors,” a move she believes compromises democratic principles.

Highlighting BJP's alleged disregard for the state’s ethos, Chaturvedi emphasized that MVA's return to power would revive the vision that Balasaheb Thackeray and MVA had for Maharashtra, focused on integrity and public welfare. Chaturvedi's statements underscore a clear message from Shiv Sena (UBT) and MVA leaders: they intend to confront BJP over what they call betrayal and will work to restore Maharashtra’s reputation as a progressive and unified state.
