Delhi: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has alleged that election results in the country are being manipulated, accusing the Election Commission of avoiding accountability and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of defending the poll body.
Speaking on the Congress-led protest against the SIR, Chaturvedi said the current political climate was fostering fear and undermining democratic norms. She called for all opposition parties to unite in a coordinated campaign to resist what she described as an attempt to impose a form of dictatorship through control over the electoral process.
The MP emphasised that such unity was essential to counter both institutional and political forces that, in her view, threaten free and fair elections. She linked the protest to broader concerns about the erosion of democratic safeguards, stating that only collective action could address the imbalance of power and restore public confidence in the electoral system.
