Patna: As the protests over the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) examination continue, Jan Suraaj chief Prashant Kishor has taken a firm stance, stating that the government’s decision to conduct a re-examination is an admission of irregularities in the initial process. Addressing the media during his hunger strike in support of the students, Kishor criticized the government for its handling of the issue and called on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to engage directly with the protesting students.
“By conducting the re-examination, the government has legally accepted that irregularities have happened with certain students in the examination,” Kishor said. “The Chief Minister should meet the students regarding their demands. This is in the best interest of the state.”
Kishor dismissed criticism from opposition parties regarding his involvement in the protest. “It is not new for the opposition parties to criticize me,” he remarked. “I have come here in support of the students. Anyone can come and lead, whether it is Rahul Gandhi or Tejashwi Yadav. The focus should only be on addressing the students’ concerns.”
The BPSC protest has intensified in recent weeks, with students alleging widespread irregularities in the examination process. Kishor, a prominent political strategist turned activist, has positioned himself at the forefront of the movement, urging the government to take swift action to address the students’ grievances.
“This fast is not for my benefit but for the students’ welfare,” Kishor declared. “The government has to decide what it wants to do next.”
