Gaya, Bihar — In a strong statement, Jan Suraaj chief Prashant Kishor targeted both Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the state’s poor socio-economic condition. Speaking to the media, Kishor expressed deep concern over Bihar's continuing struggles under the leadership of both the state and central governments.
"Today, Bihar is the poorest, most backward, most uneducated, and most unemployed state in the country," said Kishor. He attributed this to the governance of Nitish Kumar and the BJP, pointing out that despite the long years of rule — 18-19 years under Nitish Kumar and 35 years under Lalu Yadav — the state's condition had worsened.
Kishor called for a significant change in the state's leadership, claiming that the public is dissatisfied with the current political system. “This situation should change, and the public also wants this,” he added, signaling his intention to bring about reforms through his political platform.
Kishor’s remarks come ahead of the upcoming elections and reflect his growing political ambition to challenge the established parties in Bihar. His comments have stirred a debate on the effectiveness of Nitish Kumar's and Lalu Yadav's leadership, particularly as the state continues to face high unemployment and low education outcomes, contributing to Bihar’s stagnation.
