New Delhi: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi on Monday addressed the International Energy Conference in the capital, emphasizing the link between recent economic reforms, political stability, and India’s emergence as one of the world’s fastest-growing economies.
Speaking on the rollout of new Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates that came into effect today, Joshi framed the reform as part of a broader trajectory of economic transformation. “Under the leadership of PM Modi, there is political stability leading India to be the fastest growing economy in the world, despite all the problems faced,” he said.
He contrasted the current environment with earlier periods, claiming instability in past governments had slowed progress. “Earlier there was no political stability. You have seen the changes made in the country over these years... All of this is because of PM Modi's nation-first policy,” Joshi added.
The minister also used the occasion to make a cultural appeal, urging the audience to view the reforms in the spirit of collective celebration. “All of you should also join together to celebrate on the occasion of Navratri,” he said, linking policy achievements with a call for unity.
