New Delhi: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi on Monday hit out at senior Congress leader and former Home Minister P Chidambaram over his comments regarding Operation Sindoor. Joshi alleged that Chidambaram’s remarks indirectly support Pakistan’s narrative.
“P Chidambaram, who was the former Home Minister, has given a clean chit by Pakistan. The same people, when they were in power, used to say that there is no hand of Pakistan,” Joshi said while speaking to reporters after the Lok Sabha discussion on the issue.
The Union Minister further added that such statements from prominent leaders could weaken India’s diplomatic position. “The former Home Minister and former Finance Minister should realise that such statements embolden Pakistan’s stand,” Joshi asserted.
Operation Sindoor, a counter-terror operation, has been a major talking point in Parliament following the Pahalgam terror attack. While the Opposition has questioned the government’s foreign policy and intelligence lapses, the ruling party has countered by accusing the Opposition of political opportunism and weakening the national narrative.
