New Delhi: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has criticised Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, over his recent remarks about the Election Commission (EC), alleging that the Congress leader has not followed due process to substantiate his claims.
Joshi stated that the EC had written to Gandhi on June 12, inviting him to visit its office and present facts related to his allegations. According to the minister, Gandhi has not yet acted on the request. He further said that the Chief Electoral Officers of Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Haryana had asked Gandhi to submit a signed affidavit to formally initiate proceedings on the matter, but the document has not been provided so far.
The minister questioned the basis and logic behind Gandhi’s statements on the EC, saying that without submitting the required information, such allegations lack credibility.
