New Delhi: In the wake of the recent terror attack in Delhi, Congress leader Udit Raj on Wednesday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his handling of national security matters and called for his presence in an all-party meeting to address the situation.
Raj recalled that a similar meeting was convened after the Pahalgam attack but alleged that the Prime Minister had skipped it. “After the Pahalgam attack also, an all-party meeting was called, but the PM was not present in it. If he had attended that meeting, then things could have been prevented,” he said.
Accusing the Prime Minister of taking such incidents “lightly,” Raj pointed out that Modi was on a visit to Bhutan at the time of the Delhi attack. “The PM takes things very lightly. At the time of this attack, the PM went to Bhutan,” he remarked.
He also drew parallels between the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, saying both share the same approach to internal security. “The Union Home Minister is also the same as the PM,” Raj said, urging that “an all-party meeting should be called and the PM should remain present in it.”
