Dehradun: In the wake of the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, emphasizing the Centre’s swift and uncompromising response to terrorism. Taking to social media, Dhami commended the historic decisions taken during the recent Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting and called them a turning point in India’s fight against cross-border terror.

“Under the adept and decisive leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, the CCS meeting has made historic and stringent decisions against terrorism, and action has now commenced,” Dhami posted. He added that these steps embody India’s 'zero tolerance' policy towards terrorism and serve as a strong warning to hostile forces that each attack will be met with a “befitting response.”

Among the decisions, Dhami highlighted the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty—a move that has long been debated in strategic circles. “The Central Government’s decision to halt the Indus Water Treaty has made it clear that blood and water cannot flow together anymore,” he wrote. The treaty, a long-standing water-sharing agreement with Pakistan, has now been placed under review as a symbolic and strategic response.

Dhami further asserted that such measures will disrupt Pakistan’s alleged support for terrorism, stating, “This decisive action will shatter the designs of Pakistan, which shelters and promotes terrorism.”
