Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Maharashtra on January 15, where he will preside over a significant event for the Indian Navy. At the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai, the Prime Minister will dedicate three frontline naval combatants—INS Surat, INS Nilgiri, and INS Vaghsheer—to the nation upon their commissioning.

This milestone event highlights India's growing maritime strength and self-reliance in defense production. Each of these naval assets represents advanced technology and capabilities designed to bolster the country's defense and safeguard its maritime borders.

INS Surat is a stealth-guided missile destroyer, symbolizing cutting-edge technology and firepower. INS Nilgiri, a frigate, belongs to the Project 17A class of advanced warships, designed for versatile roles in maritime operations. Meanwhile, INS Vaghsheer, a Scorpene-class submarine, reinforces India’s underwater warfare capabilities with enhanced stealth features and state-of-the-art weapon systems.
