Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking in Delhi, issued a sharp critique of the Congress party and its allies, accusing them of betraying the people in various states and attempting to divide the nation. Highlighting the importance of a unified nation under one Constitution, he emphasized the finality of decisions regarding Jammu and Kashmir’s special status.
"The people of Maharashtra also saw how the Congress government is betraying the people in Karnataka, Telangana, and Himachal Pradesh. You will also see this in Punjab," Modi remarked, signaling dissatisfaction with Congress-led governance in these states.
In a strong assertion, Modi underlined that the country stands united under one Constitution. "Only one Constitution will work in the entire country, that is the Constitution of Babasaheb Ambedkar, the Constitution of India," he stated, criticizing those who advocate for separate frameworks.
PM Modi also highlighted Maharashtra's clear rejection of Congress's stance on Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir before its abrogation in 2019. "Congress and its allies tried to build a wall of Article 370 again in Jammu and Kashmir. Maharashtra has clearly told them that this will not work. Now no power in the world can bring back Article 370," Modi declared.
The Prime Minister’s remarks underscore his government’s stance on national unity and his firm opposition to Congress's policies, framing the issue as a matter of trust and governance in states under their rule.
