Delhi: Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Wednesday highlighted the transformative potential of the Prime Minister Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks, calling them a game-changer for India’s textile sector and employment generation. He was speaking at an interactive session on investment opportunities under the scheme.

“The idea behind PM MITRA Parks is driven by Prime Minister Modi. Around 700 parks have been sanctioned, with the criterion being a minimum of 1,000 acres. The park in Madhya Pradesh spans over 2,000 acres. These parks are expected to generate over 10 lakh jobs,” Singh said.

He added that, for the first time, India will witness complete end-to-end textile processing — from fibre to garment — at a single integrated location. According to the Minister, this will not only strengthen the domestic industry but also enhance India’s competitiveness in the global textile market.

The PM MITRA initiative seeks to create world-class industrial hubs with state-of-the-art infrastructure, common facilities, and an ecosystem that supports innovation and sustainability. Officials noted that the projects are already underway and are expected to attract significant private investment alongside government support.
