MUMBAI: Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal on Tuesday lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his transformative leadership, crediting him with steering India’s economic rise and uplifting millions from poverty.

Addressing a press conference in Mumbai, Goyal said, “Today, 140 crore Indians are remembering PM Modi for his visionary leadership and selfless public service. He lifted the nation from a weak economy and made it the world’s fourth fastest-growing economy.”

Highlighting the Prime Minister’s welfare initiatives, the minister noted, “He brought 25 crore citizens out of poverty and worked for every individual through transformative schemes. From welfare for the poor, ensuring good governance, and preserving our heritage to advancing it further, he is a sensitive leader who cares deeply for the poor, exploited, deprived, and suffering, striving to bring a new dawn into their lives.”
