By A Staff Reporter

In a heartfelt statement, People's Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti has apologized to the people of India on behalf of Kashmir following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Mufti, visibly shaken by the incident, emphasized that the attack was not just an assault on innocent tourists but an attack on the very spirit of Kashmiriyat.

"The attack that happened yesterday is a cowardly act that targeted people who came to enjoy the natural beauty of Kashmir. It is not only an attack on the victims but on the values that Kashmir stands for," she said in her statement. "We condemn this act in the strongest terms and assure the country that such violence will not be tolerated," she added.

Mufti also took a direct message to the people of India, expressing deep sorrow for the incident. "We are ashamed. Kashmir is ashamed," she said. "We stand with the people of India during this difficult time, and we extend our deepest apologies."
